LONG BEACH, NY — Thanksgiving is a time for families to gather and think about how fortunate they are. It's also a time to consider those who are in need.

The Martin Luther King Community Center in Long Beach has created a GoFundMe page encouraging people to donate so they can provide Thanksgiving meals. Due to inflation and ongoing supply chain issues, turkeys are harder to find and at a higher cost than a year ago.

"Any donation will help create an impact," the MLK Community Center organization wrote.
