Nassau County Police Report

The 4th Precinct's report on local arrests, assaults and DWIs.

Arrests

  • Cesar Aponte-Villazan, 19, and Joseph Rubin, 19, both from Long Beach, were arrested and charged with assault at Bayside Avenue in Atlantic Beach on Oct. 3. According to Nassau County police,  Aponte-Villazan and Rubin approached a 17-year-old as he was leaving a friend's house, they exchanged words and the two subjects punched and kicked the victims several times, causing numerous contusions.
  •  Joseph Lustberg, 22, of  Long Beach was arrested on Sept. 30 at the Nassau County Police Department's 4th Precinct, at 1699 Broadway in Hewlett, and was charged with an assault that occurred on Sept. 17, 2010.

Larceny

  • A woman who was visiting a friend on Brookline Avenue in East Atlantic Beach said that $250 was removed from her pocketbook that she left on the living room couch on Oct. 3.
  • An unidentified suspect removed assorted items for people on a beach, at 423 Lido Boulevard in Lido Beach, on Oct. 2.

DWI

  • Nicholas Flaim 22, of East Islip was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after he was driving at a high rate of speed on Lido Boulevard in Lido Beach on Oct. 3.
