Nassau Man Arrested For Running Meth Lab In His Garage: Police
Police discovered the lab after the man was found passed out on a lawn nearby, prompting the block to be closed for hours.
The Long Beach Police Department said it discovered and shut down a methamphetamine lab last week, confirming rumors that have been circulating around the town since.
On May 10, a call came in around 8 a.m. for an unconscious man on West Beech Street. The police and fire department responded to the scene and took the man to a hospital. While at the scene, police found an active chemical lab in a nearby garage and called in more support.
The discovery of the lab, which police say was being used to make methamphetamine, according to Newsday, led to portions of the block being closed for hours and residents evacuated from their homes.

News 12 reported that police have formally arrested the homeowner, 40-year-old Jovin Weinstock, a licensed clinical laboratory technologist, and charged him with reckless endangerment.
