While the old playground has been dismantled and removed, two rock climbing play structures were saved from the existing playground to be used in the new one.

The new equipment cost a total of $83,000 and in total, the project cost $200,000 for the equipment, new walkways, benches, ramps, safety surfacing, and fencing.

The Point Lookout Park Project raised over $100,000 with help from a donation from the Point Lookout Civic Association to help pay for the playground.

In addition, the town received a community revitalization grant from Nassau County Legislator Denise Ford.
