Not Even Nazis Could Dim Hedy's Halo

I've met many interesting people on our Long Beach boards but never one as refreshing as Hedy.

I trek the beach and boards often, as you know. I’ve chatted with bikers, bathers, strollers, joggers and vendors too. Many have interesting stories, like the lifeguards both young and not-so.

From your comments I know you appreciate learning of their backgrounds, their stories. We are all our histories personified. So is Hedy.

First, Hedy captures you with her smile, her general joyous countenance. But it’s the eyes that do you in. They touch you in a place that needs to know kindness still exists in our world.

Sure, you see hints of kindness in others even before they speak. And it’s a welcome sight, especially in these divided and confusing times.

But when you hear of Hedy’s life as a child under Nazi fear, you might understand why she can be so happy. Why she realizes the joy to be alive with us and be able to tell her story.

Please take a few moments to see and hear Hedy’s work and experiences.

It just might make you smile, and cause you to be even kinder than you already are: https://leebythesea.me/2023/06/20/not-even-nazis-could-dim-hedys-halo/

Be well,
