Overcoming a Challenging Environment to Economically Empower Tunisian Women
This free event is one of the first events to take steps towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals set forth by the U.N.

Presented by CIFE-NYC (Council International Femmes Entrepreneurs) and AAAWLC (Arab African American Women’s Leadership) in conjunction with the 60th session of the Commission on the Status of Women taking place at the United Nations in New York City from March 14-24, 2016 .
This is a two-part event. This first part features three speakers who will discuss Creating Safe Strategies to Empower Impoverished Tunisian Women Through Solidarity and Networking as tools to reach Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

Part two is a business to business event where 25 female entrepreneurs, who have traveled to NYC from both rural and urban regions of Tunisia, will introduce their product lines and exchange ideas for trade opportunities. Merchandise includes jewelry, linens, pottery, clothing and fine art .
This event is one of the first events to take steps towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set forth by the United Nations this past January. This goal calls on countries to join together “to end all forms of poverty, fight inequalities and tackle climate change, while ensuring that no one is left behind.” This particular event is to empower and strengthen the economy of women entrepreneurs of Tunisia.
