As of early February, more than 800 Sandy-related cases—most disputing insurance claim denials or alleged underpayments—have been filed in the Eastern District, [Federal Court] which includes the outer boroughs of New York City and Long Island, areas that endured the brunt of the nation's second-costliest weather disaster after Hurricane Katrina.
