Spring Flushing Starts May 1 Across Long Beach
The biannual project helps to reduce sediment in the water system.
LONG BEACH, NY — This time for the biannual hydrant flushing in Long Beach. It will take place nightly from May 1-15.
The flushing allows the opportunity to remove sediments from the system while ensuring proper water pressure.
There may be water discoloration, but the city says it poses no threat to your health.

An approximate schedule for each night's flushing (9 p.m.-5 a.m.) schedule will be posted daily on their website and social media.
