Summer Blood Drive Being Held This Week
The six-hour donation drive is by appointment or walk-up.
LONG BEACH, NY — Blood donations typically drop off during the summer as many people are busy taking vacations, the New York Blood Center said.
The city of Long Beach is taking a proactive step to keep the vital fluid flowing.
A blood drive is scheduled for Thursday, July 28 at the Magnolia Center.

Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins will be accepted as capacity permits.
It is expected to run from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

People can donate whole blood or the red blood cell portion.
