The holiday season is upon us. We already see Christmas lights popping up and it is not yet Thanksgiving/Hanukah. Oh well...
The Boardwalk Party wants to bring one special item to the attention of all of Long Beach:
We do have a significant population of people who may not be as fortunate as many of the rest of us. We have a great little volunteer group that receives almost no publicity, yet has served this population in Long Beach for about 20 years.
We are talking about the Long Beach Food & Friendship INN - a food "kitchen" located at 140 W. Pine, in the are of the city's garages (and across from the baseball fields).
During this time of year, especially, the Boardwalk Party is asking all of you to keep an eye out for someone who may be in need of food assistance. Please make sure they know about the LB F&F Inn and if they need assistance, help them get there.

The LB F&F Inn is provided their storefront courtesy of our city government (and the taxpayers) and has been assisted by the LB Lions Club, especially after the destruction caused by Sandy.
Why not stop by yourself and volunteer (or at the MLK Center as well).
The Boardwalk Party Exec Committee has decided to do what it can to publicize the LB F&F INN as our "cause" - and it is a very worthwhile one. We are arranging for a computer/web expert to donate his time to setting up a website for the INN and we will be pursuing whatever we can to assist them - and we ask you to join us.
If you cannot help at the INN, please try to offer your services to the MLK center.
During this season, reflect on the good fortune that you have (even those of us still not back in our homes...) and see what you can do to assist others.
By the way, in answer to many many questions, yes, the Boardwalk Party will be having a new organizational meeting in the very near future as we try to expand and serve all of the people of Long Beach with good government....
