The Warren Youth Basketball Association (WYBA) is proud to announce TRAVEL Basketball Try-outs for Grades 4-8!

The 2015-16 TRAVEL basketball programs are open for registration for girls and boys grades 4–8 at www.warrenyouthbasketball.org. The travel season runs from October through mid-March and requires weekly practices and games in competitive leagues, including tournaments. Try-outs begin the week of October 19th and end Saturday, October 24th. Players are encouraged to attend multiple try-out sessions. If you are interested in coaching, please register online by Monday, October 5th.

Please acknowledge the TRAVEL TEAM time commitments and expectations for this year:

• Travel basketball is competitive, with multiple try-outs, league games, and tournament participation.

• Three (3) try-outs are held per team. Each player should make every attempt to participate in all three (3) try-outs. Please coordinate with the coaches if you expect to miss any days. Players must complete the WYBA online registration by October 18th.

• The head coach is the final decision-maker in the composition and play of each team.

• Both player and parents (legal guardians) shall represent the club appropriately by demonstrating good sportsmanship, team spirit, self-discipline, and respect for others.

• Registration will be $280 per child for this season. Each player will need to purchase a new uniform for this year, if s/he did not have one from last year. The cost of a new uniform will be around $120.

• A player may not participate in both the travel and recreational program at the same time.

• 4th and 5th, Grades - Each team will follow the playing rules of his/her league (e.g. rotate 5 players during each quarter of the first half of play).

• 6th -8th Grade - There is no MUST PLAY RULE at this level. The rules primarily follow high school format. The coaches will make all substitutions.
