Water Main Repairs Shutting Lanes Starting Next Week

LONG BEACH, NY — There may be some traffic delays as the city of Long Beach begins its infrastructure improvement project on Riverside Boulevard to replace the water main.

The first part of the project is scheduled to start on March 14 and take up to two weeks, the city said on its website.

During that work, southbound lanes on Riverside Boulevard will be closed from East Park Avenue to East Walnut Street.

Additionally, there will be no traffic permitted on East Walnut Street between Edwards Boulevard and Riverside Boulevard, as the street will function as a dead end.

The city asks that vehicles on the northside of East Walnut St. from Edward to Riverside boulevards are parked facing westbound.
