Whales

As you know I'm always on the lookout to bring you interesting happenings on our beach and boards.

And I never have trouble finding them. But there is nothing like seeing the whales of October breaching the sea for us.

Our boardwalk is the orchestra seating of the great whale migration show of Long Beach. One just has to be patient.

But October and November are the times when whales migrate from offshore North Atlantic to the comfy climes of the Caribbean. Along that route they pass through the NY Bight which Long Beach is part of.

This past Tuesday, I happened upon two whales off New York Ave, breaching and diving.

I did the best I could capturing them but they were pretty far off.

Maybe some of you can do better than me.

But it is always fantastic to see the whales with a camera or not.
