The Atlantic Marine Conservation Society (AMSEAS) and the Town of Hempstead are partnering to host a community beach clean-up at Lido Beach Town Park.
Join us for a beach clean-up at Lido Beach Town Park on Sunday, August 23, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Volunteers are able to sign up for a 1.5-hour time slot. Please only sign up for one time slot so that more people are able to participate and help clean up our environment.
Clean-up supplies will be provided, but it is recommended that you bring your own gloves.
Registration is required so that we may contact you if we need to cancel the event due to the weather. Parking fees will be waived for all registered participants.

AcoustiRats is an acoustic duo dedicated to stripping Good Rats classics down to their raw, essential form. Fronted by Stefan Marchello, lead singer and 36-year veteran of the Good Rats, alongside guitarist Matt McCarthy, who also did a run on guitar with the band. The Jay Heritage Center in Rye, New York will celebrate America at 250 with a toast to Jay Medal honorees Pulitzer Prize-winning author Annette Gordon-Reed, the Carl M. Loeb University Professor at Harvard University and award-winning Lincoln historian Harold Holzer.
The Jay Medal for Service was created in 2012 to recognize individuals who demonstrate a selfless spirit of commitment to and engagement with their community mirroring the multifaceted contributions of John Jay and his descendants. These honorees have demonstrated through their life's work that our shared narratives as a country, complicated as they are, can be better illuminated through the highest caliber of ongoing scholarship and advocacy.
