Plus, GNL residents and cardholders can experience it firsthand by borrowing a telescope or astronomy binoculars from our <a href="https://www2.museumkey.com/things/byThing/?code=greany11023" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Library of Things</a>!

This program is brought to you by the Vanderbilt Museum and Reichert Planetarium as part of their Starred Pages outreach program. It will take place at the Great Neck Library Main Branch at 159 Bayview Avenue, Great Neck, on Monday, August 10, at 6:30 p.m.

Registration is preferred but open to all; seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Program is open to teens and adults. The Gold Coast Arts Center presents Making Memories Through the Arts at the Great Neck Library, a live program designed for people with memory loss and their caregivers to enjoy. This hour-long program will feature clips from some of your favorite classic films, with guided conversation led by social worker Marcy Rhodes. 

Recognizing that music and movies have the power to spark memories and create emotional connections, these events allow participants with opportunities to sing, clap, laugh and engage in discussion while socializing with others.

Marcy Rhodes is a certified special education teacher and licensed master social worker. She developed a well-established, person-centered approach to patient care in the office of Rudansky and Winter, Neurology &amp; Neuropsychiatry in Huntington. Currently, she works privately with clients in their homes. Marcy has collaborated with several cultural arts organizations, including Cinema Arts Centre, Gold Coast Arts Center, The Heckscher Museum of Art, The Long Island Museum of Art and The Whaling Museum &amp; Education Center, assisting them in the development of special events for individuals with memory loss and their care partners.
