This coming weekend, the most beautiful and unique pumpkin patch is coming to Long Island!
Hundreds of a special kind of pumpkin will ascend upon Setauket at the 3rd Annual Glass Pumpkin Patch, Long Island's only event to feature glass pumpkins.
What is a Glass Pumpkin Patch? It’s a festive art installation featuring hundreds of hand blown glass pumpkins by glass artist Gregory Tomb. This event will be held September 18-20, 2026, from 10am-5pm on the Setauket Village Green.
Attendees will be able to take home a glass pumpkin or as many as your heart desires with 20% of proceeds directly supporting Open Door Exchange Furniture Bank. If unfamiliar with the concept of a furniture bank, it is similar to a food bank except the organization provides furniture.
Since 2015, ODE has distributed more than 13,500 pieces of furniture to over 2,000 households completely free of charge, diverting over 1 million pounds of furniture from our landfills.
Founded and primarily funded by Setauket Presbyterian Church, Open Door Exchange (ODE) operates as a secular grassroots organization, raising awareness about its uncommon services through this community event. It is also the first and only furniture bank to serve all demographics of people in need across Long Island. ODE collects gently used dressers, tables, couches, and other essential furniture, and connects it with Long Islanders recovering from crisis, including survivors of domestic violence, veterans, the disabled, young adults aging out of foster care, and any person rebuilding their life after hardship.
“When you think of individuals in need, I think most people think of food banks or housing programs as resources, but I feel like it’s not often that everyone thinks of furniture,” said Makai Ballo, Director of Impact Operations. “However, if you consider a single parent rebuilding a life after abuse, the last thing that parent needs to worry about is ‘How can I afford a dining table for my family?’ It’s really not just furniture… it’s more than that. A table to gather at and share a meal together, a couch to cuddle on, a bed to enjoy a good night’s rest that’s not on the floor, all of those essentials can make a world of difference for someone’s own well-being and the welfare of their children. We want to help in taking one burden off people’s shoulders. No one deserves an empty house, and we want people to feel at home again. This year, in particular, has been difficult for us in funding, so we hope we can raise awareness of what we do, and that we can raise lots of funds at this pumpkin patch.”
The event will be open to the public at the following times:

- Saturday, September 19
- Sunday, September 20
- 10:00am - 5pm
Admission is free with highlights through the weekend. Saturday’s highlights will include Lil Pizza My Heart’s stone fired sourdough pizza for purchase, live music by Safrah with neo-soul and jazz fusion and cover songs at 12pm and by Rorie Kelly with indie rock and covers at 2pm, along with tarot readings by Sassafras Tarot. Sunday offers Dominican and Colombian cuisine for purchase from Mobile Munchiez, ice cream tacos by The Rainbow Rolls, and tarot readings offered by the Long Island Tarot Collective.
Gregory Tomb’s sought-after glasswork has been showcased at top festivals and museums across the country, and his Glass Pumpkin Patches have raised funds for organizations including Make-A-Wish. Pumpkin prices range from $50 to $500.
The weekend will also feature a raffle for one of Tomb’s gorgeous glass pumpkins, as well as a raffle for a one-of-a-kind quilt by Long Island Modern Quilt Guild that has a charming collection of appliquéd house blocks, valued at over $250.
