Girl Scouts of Nassau County Celebrates the 3rd Annual Thin Mint Sprint 5K and Family Fun Walk

Girl Scouts of Nassau County recently hosted its 3rd annual Thin Mint Sprint 5K and Family Fun Walk at Jones Beach State Park, bringing together more than 500 runners, walkers, families and Girl Scout supporters to celebrate Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend.

Despite the rainy weather, participants braved the rain and showed up ready to run, walk and support a great cause. The event raised funds for GSNC’s Family Partnership Giving Campaign, which provides financial assistance to families in need and helps ensure that every girl has the opportunity to participate in Girl Scouts, regardless of financial circumstances.

“The Thin Mint Sprint is the perfect way to bring the community together, fundraise and have a great time doing it,” said Rande Bynum, CEO of Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “Seeing so many runners, walkers, volunteers and supporters show up despite the rain was a wonderful reminder of the incredible community behind Girl Scouts. Their enthusiasm and commitment help us ensure that more girls have the opportunity to participate, grow and lead.”

Held at Jones Beach State Park in honor of Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend, the event encouraged participants to get moving, enjoy the outdoors and support a cause that directly impacts Girl Scouts across Nassau County. At the finish line, every participant was also greeted with a box of Thin Mints, a sweet reminder of their impact.

The Thin Mint Sprint would not have been possible without the dedication of our participants, volunteers and sponsors.
