Girl Scouts of Nassau County (GSNC) recently honored Jericho residents Allie McCormick and Fran O’Connor, at its 2024 Annual Adult Recognitions Award Ceremony and Dinner. The annual event, which was held at the Inn at New Hyde Park on March 21, recognizes and celebrates the adult volunteers for their service to Girl Scouts of Nassau County and to their communities. Allie McCormick and Fran O’Connor were among 110 honorees throughout Nassau County.

“It is because of the hard work and dedication of all our volunteers, that Girl Scouts of Nassau County can provide impactful leadership opportunities for girls in our area. Each of our Adult Recognitions Honorees has made a significant impact on our organization and help spread the Girl Scout mission,” said Randell Bynum, the CEO of Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “Thanks to their contributions, we can continue building girls of courage, confidence and character, who continue to make this world a better place.”

Allie McCormick and Fran O’Connor were both awarded the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Changemaker Award, an award given to those who worked on and were engaged with the governance of Girl Scouts’ 56th National Council Session. These volunteers ensured that Girl Scouts of Nassau County’s voice was represented in the decision making and evolution of the Girl Scout Movement.
