Girl Scouts of Nassau County Honor West Hempstead Residents
Event Recognizes Outstanding Girl Scout Champions Whose Volunteerism Has Left a Lasting Impact on Girls All Over Nassau County
Girl Scouts of Nassau County (GSNC) recently honored West Hempstead residents Kevin Boston Hill, Gabrielle Fidis and Anne Marie Spensieri-Fidis, at its 2024 Annual Adult Recognitions Award Ceremony and Dinner. The annual event, which was held at the Inn at New Hyde Park on March 21, recognizes and celebrates the adult volunteers for their service to Girl Scouts of Nassau County and to their communities. Kevin Boston Hill, Gabrielle Fidis and Anne Marie Spensieri-Fidis were among 110 honorees throughout Nassau County.
“The honorees recognized at our Adult Recognitions Award Ceremony and Dinner has made a significant impact on our organization and help shape the Girl Scout experience,” said Randell Bynum, the CEO of Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “Girl Scouts of Nassau County cannot thrive and make a difference without the exceptional volunteer work that our honorees provide us with. Thanks to their contributions, we can continue building girls of courage, confidence and character.”
Kevin Boston Hill, Gabrielle Fidis and Anne Marie Spensieri-Fidis were all awarded the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Changemaker Award, an award given to those who worked on and were engaged with the governance of the Girl Scouts National Council Session. These volunteers, as changemakers, ensured that Girl Scouts of Nassau County’s voice was represented in the decision making and evolution of the Girl Scouts Movement. Every three years, delegates from every council across the nation and the National Council meet to discuss, debate and vote on issues important to Girl Scouts. They also elect national leaders for the next triennium.
