Girl Scouts of Nassau County Honors Massapequa Residents

Event Recognizes Outstanding Girl Scout Champions Whose Volunteerism Has Left a Lasting Impact on Girls All Over Nassau County

Girl Scouts of Nassau County (GSNC) recently honored Massapequa residents Marie Ferrara, Danamarie Malone and Deborah Meehan at its 2024 Annual Adult Recognitions Award Ceremony and Dinner. The annual event, which was held at the Inn at New Hyde Park on March 21, recognizes and celebrates the adult volunteers for their service to Girl Scouts of Nassau County and to their communities. Ferrara, Malone and Meehan were among 110 honorees throughout Nassau County.

“It is because of the hard work and dedication of all our volunteers, that Girl Scouts of Nassau County can provide impactful leadership opportunities for girls in our area. Each of our Adult Recognitions Honorees has made a significant impact on our organization and help spread the Girl Scout mission,” said Randell Bynum, the CEO of Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “Thanks to their contributions, we can continue building girls of courage, confidence and character, who continue to make this world a better place.”

Ferrara, Malone and Meehan were awarded the GSNC Courage, Confidence & Character Certificate for Volunteers. This award recognizes those that have exercised major efforts to be pioneers for instilling courage, confidence and character into the young girls of their Girl Scout troop.
