GARDEN CITY, N.Y. — July 27, 2026 — The Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (LIAACC) has announced a series of upcoming August events designed to connect business owners, entrepreneurs, professionals and community members with networking, education, resources and opportunities for economic advancement.

HOFSTRA BLACK BUSINESS MONTH MIXER

Sondra and David S. Mack Student Center, Hofstra University
Hempstead, New York

LIAACC will participate in the Black Business Month Mixer, an evening celebrating Black entrepreneurship, leadership and economic opportunity across Long Island.

The 2026 theme, “Money Moves: Black Business & Bold Growth,” focuses on bringing together entrepreneurs, business professionals, emerging business owners and community leaders for meaningful networking and conversations about business growth.

Attendees will have opportunities to expand their networks, make new business connections, learn about available resources and engage with individuals and organizations committed to strengthening Long Island’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The program is presented in connection with the Entrepreneurship Assistance Center at Hofstra University and other community partners.

BACK-TO-SCHOOL WITH CHASE & THE LONG ISLAND AFRICAN AMERICAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

LIAACC will continue its community engagement efforts through Back-To-School with CHASE & the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce.

The program represents another example of the importance of partnerships between major corporations, community organizations, businesses and families.

Entrepreneurs interested in government contracting and supplier opportunities are encouraged to attend “Next Step: NYS M/WBE Certification, Capability Statement & Procurement.”

The program will focus attention on three critical areas for businesses seeking to compete for procurement opportunities:

• New York State M/WBE Certification
• Developing an Effective Capability Statement
• Understanding Procurement Opportunities and Readiness

The event is particularly relevant for minority- and women-owned businesses that want to become better positioned to pursue government, institutional and corporate contracting opportunities.

“Creating opportunities for small businesses requires more than simply telling entrepreneurs that opportunities exist. We must help business owners prepare themselves, build relationships, understand procurement and connect with the resources that can move their companies forward,” said Phil Andrews, President of the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc.

Andrews added, “Our upcoming events demonstrate the Chamber’s commitment to combining networking, education, corporate partnerships and community engagement. We invite entrepreneurs, professionals and community stakeholders throughout the region to become involved.”

A MONTH OF CONNECTION, EDUCATION AND OPPORTUNITY

The August schedule provides several different points of entry for the business and community sectors — from celebrating Black entrepreneurship and making strategic connections to supporting community initiatives and helping businesses strengthen their procurement readiness.

LIAACC encourages business owners to use Chamber events not only as opportunities to exchange business cards, but as platforms for developing lasting relationships, identifying resources and creating new pathways for growth.
