March is National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month
Independent Group Home Living Program (IGHL)- hosting 27th Annual St. Patrick's Day Corned Beef & Cabbage Dinner & Chinese Auction

This March marks the 30th anniversary of National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. Independent Group Home Living Program, Inc. (IGHL), a not for profit organization that provides services for men, women and children who experience developmental and intellectual disabilities, is pleased to raise awareness in our community by sharing the following information.
- One out of five Americans experiences a disability.
- Many of the services you use and many of the products you have at home were produced with the help of a person who experiences a developmental/intellectual disability.
- People who experience developmental/intellectual disabilities include farmers, artists, musicians, college students and Olympic athletes.
- IGHL and its affiliates provide a complete range of services for men, women and children who experience developmental and intellectual disabilities at over 100 locations throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
IGHL will be hosting their 27th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Corned Beef & Cabbage Dinner & Chinese Auction on Monday, March 13 from 4pm – 8pm at the IGHL’s Manorville Opportunity Center located at 221 North Sunrise Service Rd., Manorville, NY, featuring guest chef, IGHL CEO Walter Stockton.
