(MANHASSET, N.Y.) - Ahead of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Nassau County Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum (D - Great Neck) partnered with NuHealth to bring the breast cancer screening van to the Hagedorn Community Center on Thursday, Sept. 23. After meeting with residents as they waited to receive examinations, Legislator Birnbaum went inside the Community Center and greeted the children at the Head Start Manhasset/Great Neck EOC program.
“With National Breast Cancer Awareness Month on the horizon, I was pleased to work with NuHealth and the Hagedorn Community Center to make it as affordable and convenient as possible for residents to access potentially life-saving healthcare services,” Legislator Birnbaum said. “If you are over the age of 40, I urge you to call your health care provider and schedule an appointment for your annual screenings if you have not done so already.”
