New LI Event Celebrates Women In Business On Sunset Cruise
The inaugural Women Who Innovate cruise will bring together Long Island professionals, business owners and community leaders.
FREEPORT, NY — A new Long Island networking and leadership event will set sail this week with a focus on women in business, entrepreneurship and community impact.
Innovate Learning Solutions will host its inaugural Women Who Innovate Sunset Cruise on June 19, aboard a sunset cruise departing from Freeport’s Nautical Mile.
The event is designed to bring together women entrepreneurs, executives, professionals and community leaders from across Long Island and New York for an evening centered on networking, visibility, collaboration and business growth, according to organizers.

Boarding begins at 6:15 p.m. at Captain Lou Fleet, located at 31 Woodcleft Ave. in Freeport. The cruise is scheduled for 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Raquel Washington, founder and principal consultant of Innovate Learning Solutions, said to Patch that the event was created to foster intentional spaces for women in business at a time when women-owned businesses represent nearly 40 percent of all U.S. businesses and women are launching new businesses at record levels.

“This event was created to help foster those connections while celebrating leadership, entrepreneurship, and community impact,” Washington said.
The evening will include business networking, leadership conversations, community partnerships, a spotlight on women-owned businesses and a Juneteenth celebration, organizers said.
Featured speakers and guests include Washington, who will present “Scaling Without Chaos: How To Build Systems That Drive Sustainable Growth”; Jessica Sinclair, who will discuss networking strategically; Malika Vaughn Foster, who will speak on using AI to work smarter; and Julia D. Shaw, who will present on healing, culture and creative expression through art.
Washington said the Women Who Innovate initiative is an extension of Innovate Learning Solutions’ broader mission of helping individuals, professionals, entrepreneurs and organizations develop the skills, strategies and connections needed to thrive.
Innovate Learning Solutions is a Nassau County-based consulting and professional development firm specializing in workforce development, leadership training, sales enablement, learning strategy and career advancement programs.
Organizers said the Women Who Innovate initiative is intended to become an annual Long Island tradition, celebrating and elevating women making an impact in business and in their communities.
Everyone is welcome to support and celebrate, according to event materials. Attendees are encouraged to dress to impress.
