NEW YORK SURF WEEK

NY SURF WEEK KICKS OFF WITH COMPETITIONS FOR SURFING AND SKATE CONTESTS, July 13-17, NATIONAL BOULEVARD, LONG BEACH

Will Skudin, professional big wave surfer and founder of NY Surf Week will kick off New York’s Annual NY Surf Week which honors the memory of Long Beach surfer George “Geeza” Geiser. This year’s event follows Skudin’s outstanding performance on the big waves as he came in 5th in the World Championship Big Wave competition in Purerto Escondidio, Mexico.

July 13

8 a.m. – 6 p.m. – NYSEA Open Surf Contest (On Call )

1:30 p.m. 3:00 p.m. – Surf Outing for the blind and visually impaired with Camp Abilities

8 p.m. – 11 p.m. Surfer Magazine Big Issue Party – Release of this year’s Big Issue and the world premiere of a short film about Long Island’s own Will Skudin

July 14

8 a.m. – 6 p.m. – NYSEA Open Surf Contest (on call)

1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. – Surf Outing for the Henry Viscardi school

6 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. – Surf Movie Night – Family-friendly affair will feature new surf films “Fire & Water.” Thor Larson, Brain Adamkiewicz & Natty Graham’s Puerto Ricko winter 2016 short film “Jobless”, the night will also include dunk tanks, robo surf, and kids activities.

July 15

8 a.m. – 6 p.m. – NYSEA Open Surf Contest (on call)

8 a.m. – 6 p.m. – Boardwalk Vending Village

July 16
