Peter Elkowitz Joins Board
Peter Elkowitz, President of Long Island Housing Patrnership, Elected to Board of Directors of Grounded Solutions

Peter Elkowitz, of Mt. Sinai and president of Long Island Housing Partnership, has been elected to the Board of Directors for Grounded Solutions, a nationwide organization that promotes housing solutions that will stay affordable for generations so communities can stabilize and strengthen their foundations.
Grounded Solutions works nationally, connecting local experts with the networks, knowledge and support they need and a deep understanding of best practices for increasing and maintaining affordable housing stock. Grounded Solutions is a partnership of the National Community Land Trust Network and Cornerstone Partnership bringing together an extensive network of member practitioners from local communities. The organization works to foster connections and share best practices between experts to help everyone work more effectively. Building connections is one of the key ways that Grounded Solutions helps to advance the national movement toward more equitable communities.
“I am honored to share my expertise with Grounded Solutions and to collaborate with a national group of knowledgeable individuals to achieve our shared goal of developing more equitable communities and creating more affordable housing for the long term,” stated Mr. Elkowitz.

Mr. Elkowitz has been affiliated with the Long Island Housing Partnership (LIHP) since 1989. He serves as a former chair to the Federal Home Loan Bank Affordable Housing Advisory Council as well as on the board of New York Housing Conference, Inc. He was a former member of the Long Island Regional Planning Council. Mr. Elkowitz is responsible for the overall operations of the LIHP and its affiliates.
