SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY โ As the spring season moves deeper into April, teams across Suffolk County are beginning to separate themselves, with Huntington continuing its strong start, Harborfields remaining unbeaten, and Ward Melville delivering a key early-season victory.
Huntington Builds Momentum Across Multiple Sports
Huntingtonโs girls lacrosse team continued its dominant early-season play this week, highlighted by a 13-3 win over Sachem North on April 7, adding to a strong opening stretch.

The Blue Devils have shown balance on both ends of the field, with consistent scoring and disciplined defense setting the tone early in the season.
Huntington also saw success on the track at the Longwood Classic Invitational, where athletes battled cold temperatures but still delivered multiple medal-winning performances.

Titan Elysee led the way, earning three medals, including second-place finishes in both the 110-meter high hurdles (16.26) and 400-meter intermediate hurdles (59.11). He later helped power the 4x100 relay team to gold (45.96) alongside Wilmer Benitez, Zayvion McCoy and Yasir Jones.
โIt was a hot raceโฆ but our anchor leg was able to hold off the late charge,โ head coach Ron Wilson said.
In field events, Matt Ross took first in the shot put (43-8.75), while Jean Riboul earned medals in both shot put and discus, adding to a strong all-around showing.
Harborfields Remains Perfect
Harborfields continued its undefeated run, improving to 6-0 with a dominant 18-3 win over Hauppauge on April 7.
The Tornadoes have quickly established themselves as one of Suffolk Countyโs top teams, combining offensive firepower with disciplined play through the opening weeks.
Ward Melville Hands Lindenhurst First Loss
Ward Melville delivered one of the weekโs biggest results, defeating previously unbeaten Lindenhurst 12-10.
The victory marks an early statement for Ward Melville as teams begin to settle into league play.
