Puccio led the offense with two goals, while Jolie Weinschreider added three goals and an assist. Bridget Callery contributed a goal and two assists, while Grace Gordon and Olivia Puccio also found the back of the net.

Defensively, Huntington controlled the tempo throughout the second half. Goalie Juliet Johnson made 12 saves, while Ava McDonald forced multiple turnovers and helped disrupt Ridgewoodโ€™s attack.

The Blue Devils followed that performance with a 12-4 win over William Floyd to improve to 11-0 on the season.

Whitman 8th Grader Throws No-Hitter

At Walt Whitman, an emerging young talent delivered a dominant performance in the circle.

Eighth-grade pitcher Brynn Iacovone threw her first career no-hitter in a 2-0 win over Half Hollow Hills on April 25, striking out 14 batters and carrying a perfect game into the seventh inning.

Iacovone allowed just one walk in the final frame, finishing the game with complete control.

Coach Ralph Miranda said her consistency stood out throughout.

โ€œAs she continued to get outs, her approach never changed,โ€ Miranda said. โ€œEven after she allowed the only baserunner of the game, I was proud of how she maintained her composure and finished strong.โ€

Whitmanโ€™s defense backed the effort, with catcher Lucy Oโ€™Loughlin guiding the game behind the plate and outfielders Liana Chetty and Maya Rowser making key plays to preserve the shutout.

The gameโ€™s only runs came in the fourth inning, when Leilani Servellon drove in Gianna Rowser to break a scoreless tie.
