Whole Foods Market Donates $4,480 to Mental Health Non-Profit

Five percent of net sales on Community Giving Day to benefit Association for Mental Health and Wellness' chemical free garden

RONKONKOMA, NY โ€“ The Association for Mental Health and Wellness (MHAW) announced that it received 5 percent of net sales from Whole Foods Marketโ€™s Commack, NY store on April 10, 2019 as part of the companyโ€™s annual Community Giving Days. The funds will be dedicated to expanding and improving the agencyโ€™s Chemical Free Garden, which grows vegetables, herbs, and fruit. Each week during the growing season, fresh, organic produce is harvested and donated to Charlotteโ€™s Table, MHAWโ€™s choice-based food pantry, which is open to the public to all who are in need.

The April Community Giving Day initiative is Community Food that focus on organizations, partnerships, projects, and events that leverage food to strengthen communities through economic growth, sustainable sourcing, environmental stewardship, and powerful collaborations.

More than 500 Whole Foods Market locations participated in Community Giving Day by donating to organizations, projects, and programs that support the mission of strengthening communities through food.
