Off-Duty Cop Arrested For Drinking And Driving

The man struck a median before officers arrested him, police said.

CHINATOWN, NY — An off-duty cop was arrested for drinking and driving in Manhattan Monday morning.

Shreeganesh Meade, 31, was driving with .08 blood alcohol content levels when he struck a median at W. 48th St. and 12th Ave., police said.

Officers arrested and processed Meade in the Fifth Precinct in Chinatown around 10:30 a.m. Monday. It's unclear if he drove south from W. 48th St. before being stopped or if police took him there.

He was charged with operating a motor vehicle with .08 blood alcohol content and driving while intoxicated, police said. The DWI charge was Meade's first offense.

Meade has not been arrested previously, according to police.
