Lower East Side's Local Police Precinct Holds Blood Drive Thursday

Head over to the Seventh Precinct to donate blood from 12-6 p.m.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY — Lower East Side's local police precinct is hosting a blood drive for the New York Blood Drive from 12-6 p.m. Thursday. The Seventh Precinct will hold the drive at their headquarters at 19 ½ Pitt St., near Delancey and by the Williamsburg Bridge.

The Red Cross recommends donors get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy meal and drink an extra 16 oz. of water or nonalcoholic fluids before the donation.

Donors should avoid fatty foods like hamburgers, fries or ice cream before donating, because if there's too much fat in the blood the donation cannot be tested for infectious diseases.
