Man Robs Chinatown Bank, Flees With Backpack Of Cash: NYPD

CHINATOWN, NY — Police are on the prowl for a robber who fled a Chinatown bank with a backpack packed with cash Thursday morning, authorities said.

The man, who is in his 30s with a dark beard, slipped a note demanding cash to a teller at a Canal Street TD Bank near Lafayette Street at 8:30 a.m., police said. The man fled in an unknown direction and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and a black backpack, officials said

The robber made off with an undetermined amount of money.
