Man Shot on the Lower East Side Early Tuesday: NYPD

The man was uncooperative and didn't provide any further details regarding the incident, police said.

LOWER EAST SIDE — Police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Tuesday at Essex and Hester streets on the Lower East Side, police told Patch.

At around 4:34 a.m., a 31-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the shoulder walked himself to the New York Presbyterian Hospital.

The man was uncooperative and didn't provide any further details regarding the incident, police told Patch.

A 911 caller reported a car chase in the area at around the same time, police told Patch.

The man remains in stable condition. There are no arrests so far and the investigation is ongoing.
