Man Tries To Rob A Bank In Chinatown, Police Say

CHINATOWN, NY — A man tried to rob a bank in the Fifth Precinct on Monday, police said.

A man walked into TD Bank at 155 Canal St. about 3:30 p.m. on Monday, according to police.

Police said he passed a note to the bank teller, demanding the employee hand over cash.

When the teller refused, the man fled without anything, police said.

Police said the man is about 30-years-old, 5-foot 10-inches tall with a full beard. In surveillance footage, the man is wearing a dark-colored backwards baseball cap, a black coat and sunglasses.
