She rebuilt her life over six years away from school, found a passion for media and radio, and now hopes her story encourages other Lynbrook neighbors who feel stuck to believe they can begin again at any moment. 
• Ventas is buying The Bristal Assisted Living facility in Westbury, plans $1.2M in upgrades (newsday.com) — Lynbrook seniors and their families may be interested to know that the Bristal Assisted Living network, which includes a Lynbrook location with designated affordable units, is expanding under new ownership. A Chicago-based real estate trust is buying the Westbury Bristal, pledging $1.2 million in upgrades while keeping management, tax incentives, and affordable senior apartments in place through 2040.
