• Lyons kindergarten teacher Hill receives "Insprising" award (fltimes.com) — A Lyons Central School District kindergarten teacher, Jordan Hill, has been honored with the New York State Senate’s Educators Inspiring a Generation Award, highlighting excellence in local classrooms. A 2017 Lyons graduate, Hill returned to teach in her hometown, where colleagues, students, and family recently surprised her with an in-class celebration and reception recognizing her leadership and committee work across the district.
   

• State adds limits to ammunition (post-journal.com) — New York lawmakers have advanced a bill to block ammunition sales to anyone already barred from owning a gun, tightening background checks statewide. The debate featured Assemblyman Brian Manktelow, R-Lyons, who opposed the measure on Second Amendment grounds, as legislators sparred over how far the new limits and red flag provisions should reach.
