86 Lynbrook High Students Earn High Marks on AP Exams
Lynbrook students honored for college-level course scores.

The College Board has identified a total of 86 students from Lynbrook High School’s Classes of 2014 and 2015 as Advanced Placement Scholars, based on their exceptional performance on the AP exams administered in 2013.
These students have demonstrated college-level achievement through their participation in AP courses.

Lynbrook High School students qualified for various levels of recognition within this award system. Fifty-two were named AP Scholars for receiving scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams, 11 were recognized as AP Scholars with Honor for receiving an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams, 23 earned AP Scholars with Distinction status for receiving an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams, and eight attained the National AP Scholars title for receiving an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.
Lynbrook High School offers 18 AP courses for which any students may enroll. Taking on the more rigorous college-level curriculum brings the prospect of earning college credit, advanced placement or both for successful performance on the AP Exams. According to the College Board, about 22 percent of the 2.2 million students worldwide who took AP Exams performed at a sufficiently high level to also earn an AP Scholar award.

“AP Scholar recognition is a point of pride for the entire district and community, reflecting our students’ commitment to learning that begins early on and continues to build through the high school years,” stated Superintendent of Schools Dr. Melissa Burak. “As educators, our goal is to prepare students well for the future, and the success achieved by our AP students is an excellent indicator of their college readiness. Congratulations to these scholars for a distinction well-deserved.”
