Board of Education Looks Toward School Renovations
Proposals for upgrades at a couple of Lynbrook schools would get voted on in May.

LYNBROOK, NY — Renovations were a main topic at a recent meeting of the Lynbrook Board of Education.
The proposals could be coming to the district after the Facilities Committee met twice this month.
Among the upgrades sought, a new turf field at North Middle School. The price, approved by residents last year, has increased, causing an expansion of plans, the district said.

The projects would be on the ballot in May with no additional cost to taxpayers, due to funding allotted from the district's capital reserves.
The board also praised Bob Lovergine, the longtime custodian, whose retirement was announced. Lovergine started in the high school in 1999 and became head custodian in 2012. His retirement is effective on Jan. 28.
He was presented with an award for years of service in the district.
