BRIAN BRUCE ELECTED TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF LI WATER CONFERENCE
Vice President of New York American Water Brian Bruce Joins the Long Island Water Conference Board
New York American Water Vice President of Operations Brian Bruce has been appointed to serve as secretary of the Long Island Water Conference (LIWC) board of directors. Bruce, a Long Beach resident, brings over 20 years of experience in the water industry.
“It is an honor to serve on the Long Island Water Conference board of directors,” said Bruce. “I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the conversation regarding Long Island’s water quality and aquifer protection.”
At New York American Water, Bruce oversees the water quality, production, field operations and system maintenance of the company to provide optimal, cost effective, customer service. He has been Vice President of New York American Water for nearly two years, is a board member of the National Association of Water Companies, and is a member of the New York American Water Works Association.

Bruce also has significant experience working with water systems outside of Long Island. He previously served as director of business performance at California American Water as well as operations manager for its Monterey County District’s water system and the San Diego District. Before joining American Water, Bruce was the assistant public works director and water department superintendent for the City of Papillion in Nebraska, and a water system operator for both the Manitowoc Public Utilities in Wisconsin and the City of Howell, in Michigan.
