Assemblyman Brian Curran (Lynbrook-21st A.D.), Town of Hempstead Senior Councilman Anthony J. Santino and Malverne Mayor Patricia McDonald recently hosted a second, successful Allergy Awareness Forum for Malverne children, parents, grandparents and guardians with guest speaker Susan Kelly. The forum discussed the importance of allergy awareness in the community as well as how to administer a life-saving health agent, an EpiPen (Epinephrine autoinjector), used to treat severe allergic reactions.

“It was great to again partner with Senior Councilman Santino, Mayor McDonald, and guest speaker Kelly to bring this important Allergy Awareness Forum to our Malverne community,” said Curran. “Our second forum was a tremendous success with the goal to educate parents, grandparents and guardians about allergy awareness in our homes, villages, schools, at sporting events, and in the community. Allergies pose a serious risk to children and adults, and bringing this knowledge to parents will go a long way toward making our children and families safer. My special thanks to Mrs. Susan Kelly for the wealth of information she has provided for this and the Lynbrook forum last week.”
