Franklin Square resident honored for essay saluting veterans

Stop & Shop's "Operation Hometown Heroes" essay contest participants recognized by the Museum of American Armor

Stop & Shop’s Bob Young, and Joe Nappi, an historic re-enactor from the Museum of American Armor welcome Frank Marascia of Franklin Square, to the American Armor Museum in Old Bethpage. Marascia was among the contest participants recognized by the Museum of American Armor, for an essay saluting the heroic efforts of U.S. military veterans. Marascia and other participants in Stop & Shop’s “Operation Hometown Heroes” program were given the opportunity to ride aboard the museum's historic armor vehicles thanks to a joint effort coordinated by Stop & Shop, Nassau County and the Armor Museum that invited customers to write about the heroes in their own families.
