LI Community Holds Vigil For Gunned Down Officers
As funeral plans are in place for one officer and another fights for his life, Malverne holds candlelight vigil.

MALVERNE, NY — Using the location named for an NYPD patrolman who was left paralyzed from a shooting, people came to Malverne on Sunday night with heavy hearts.
Dozens of people gathered at the Steven McDonald Garden of Forgiveness for a vigil. They held candles to remember NYPD Officer Jason Rivera, who was killed in a Harlem ambush on Friday.
They also prayed for Officer Wilbert Mora, who remains in critical condition, after answering a domestic dispute call.
