VIDEO: Local Bands Battle For Malverne Title

From headbanging heavy metal rockers to a hip chick band, four very different music groups battled in Malverne to win this year's Challenge of the Bands.

The local acts - Chariots, Praetorian, Out of Order and Escape Route - competed on Aug. 12 in an outdoor showcase sponsored by the village's Youth Board.

Each group, which featured atleast one member from Malverne, kept their audience of 'groupies' and village residents of all ages entertained throughout the night.

Escape Route took home top prize, with Chariots and Out of Order coming in second and third place.
