Lynbrook Board of Trustees Recognizes Continued Efforts of Fire Department
The village fire department continues to participate in charitable events and gain appreciation.

At the meeting, Pastor Bob Walderman of the presented Lynbrook Fire Chief Michael Hynes with a check for $4,380. The money awarded to the department was raised on Oct. 1 at the in which the department played.
“As part of the Lynbrook Community, we are very appreciative of the job that the fire department does for the church,” said Pastor Walderman.

The Nassau County Coalition Against Domestic Violence was also awarded a check for $4,380 from the event.
The Lynbrook Fire Department was also mentioned in connection with the $1,500 donation given by the Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce to the Nassau County Firefighters Operation Wounded Warriors. “I want everyone in Lynbrook to appreciate and understand the respect we have for our fire department,” proclaimed Bill Gaylor, President of the Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce.
There is additional excitement happening within the fire department, aside from all of the charity work and money raised. Village representatives along with fire officials are in negotiations with several major fire truck companies in getting new vehicles for Lynbrook. Officials are currently collecting data to determine the most cost effective options for the village.

- The Historical Society of Easy Rockaway and Lynbrook will host on Oct. 23 from 1pm to 3pm at Rockville Cemetery. - The “Friends of Valentina” event, hosted by Gina and Frank Oroz, will be held on Friday, Nov. 18 at 7pm at the Lynbrook VFW. The evening costs $25 per person and all proceeds will go towards the medical expenses for Valentina Bravin, a four-year-old girl with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG – a tumor on the brain stem). Individuals and businesses are encouraged to donate items for raffles and auctions and to sponsor tables.
