Lynbrook Mayor Undergoing Surgery
Village trustees hoping Bill Hendrick will return to duties soon.

Lynbrook Mayor Bill Hendrick will be having surgery today, according to Deputy Mayor Alan Beach.
Details of the surgery were not disclosed, but the mayor has had health problems stemming from an infected spleen that was discovered at a Long Island hospital in early May. Beach said that Hendrick had some additional tests done on Monday prior to today's surgery..
Hendrick was not present at Monday night's village board meeting. Trustees asked that residents keep the mayor in their thoughts as they hope for his speedy recovery.
"We ask for prayers from everyone that everything goes successful," Beach said.
