Lynbrook Musicians Perform at Atria
Marion Street students entertain village's senior citizens.
Residents of Atria Senior Living in Lynbrook experienced a special treat on Dec. 23 as members of Marion Street School's Fourth and Fifth Grade Orchestra, Band and Chorus donned concert attire and Santa hats to play and sing such holiday favorites as "Frosty the Snowman," "The Dreidel Song," and "Jingle Bell Rock."
To everyone's delight, one of the residents, Orion Mehus, who is a retired professional violinist, played a solo for the group. At the end of the concert, the children invited residents to join them for a round of holiday caroling. The performers were accompanied by orchestra teacher Gayle Meister, chorus teacher Karen Ajamian, and band teachers Gale Bayen and Peter Deschler.
