Lynbrook Seniors Offer Glimpse of Job Force

As a culminating assignment for Lynbrook High School’s first semester internship program, senior class participants recently reported on the work experiences they obtained over the past several months.

The students completed 50 hours of onsite work in various industries they chose to pursue. The students assisted and shadowed professionals and explored possible future careers.

Internship locations included Long Beach Pediatrics, Temple Em Achad Nursery School, Lynbrook Police Department, Long Island Herald, Stefan’s Florist, the Sweet Peace Bakery and Windjammer Productions. These are just some of the many job sites that welcomed Lynbrook students.

During their classroom presentations, the students provided background information about their selected fields and discussed the responsibilities of professionals. They described their roles as interns, explained their personal perspectives about the experiences and shared ways in which they were able to contribute in their vocational environments.

The second semester internship program has now begun, and another group of seniors is receiving similar opportunities.
