Children in the Lynbrook Public Schools’ Kindergarten Center embraced the meanings of gratitude and generosity during a Thanksgiving feast.
Classes came together to dine on traditional holiday fare, which was served by volunteer parents and staff members.
Students and their teachers cooked up a number of side dishes including stuffing and mashed potatoes, which they prepared in their classrooms and the building’s kitchen.

Turkey was provided courtesy of the PTA. Principal Ellen Postman led the children in a toast honoring family, friends, food and freedom prior to the joyous meal.
Classroom lessons incorporated the history of Thanksgiving throughout the month of November. The children created headwear representing the Pilgrims, Native Americans, or turkeys, and proudly sported these accessories during the celebratory feast.
