For the fifth consecutive year, Malverne High School has been named a Blue Star School by the W!SE organization, the company that runs the financial literacy program.
This award is given to schools in which 75 percent or more of the students have proven to be financially literate and have a majority of students on a given grade level take the test or have the students who took it achieve an average score of 80 percent or better.

The Financial Literacy program at Malverne is taught by teachers Nick Moreno and Mike Whalen as part of the Economics course for seniors. The Blue Star School banner will be presented to the district during the MoneyPower Conference in New York City in November.
