Malverne Names Valedictorian, Salutatorian For Class Of 2023
Sabrina Ramharakh and Raymond Cecere are the top students from the graduating class.

MALVERNE, NY — Malverne High School has named its top of the graduating class.
Sabrina Ramharakh is the school's valedictorian, while Raymond Cecere is the Class of 2023 salutatorian.
Ramharakh was named AP Scholar with Distinction in the spring and received the AP Capstone Diploma.

But her accolades didn't stop there.
She won an NAACP Award for Leadership and Community Advocacy and the Excellence Award in Civil Engineering and Architecture.

Ramharakh served as president of the student government and treasurer of the National Honor Society.
As an advocate, she was part of the initiative to rename Lindner Place, a Malverne street named for a former KKK member.
She has also excelled in soccer and lacrosse, earning four years of scholar-athlete status and the Varsity Girls' Soccer Coach's Award. Plus, Ramharakh is a member of the "Pride of Malverne" marching band.
Cecere's road to salutatorian includes being named a recipient of the National AP Scholar Award, and AP Capstone Diploma. He is also the first Malverne student to be recognized as a College Board National Hispanic Recognition Scholar. He's taken leadership roles, including president of FIRST Robotics Club and vice president of the National Honor Society.
Among Cecere's extracurricular activities include more than 500 hours of volunteer and community service, including an internship at former assemblywoman Judy Griffin's office.
As captain of varsity tennis team, he was awarded "Unsung Hero" in 2021 and 2022, and led the team to win the All-Conference Championship in 2022.
